London Business School
We frequently collaborate with fine furniture designers and makers to create bespoke one-off pieces for institutions and private clients.
This ceremonial kneeling stool is specially designed for the London Business School’s graduation ceremonies.
The main focus is the carved and gilded silhouette of the university’s main campus, which is designed by John Nash and it is a Grade I listed building. The building is located at Sussex Place in London next to Regent’s Park.
During the design process for the main carving feature, we focused on the images which represent the University. The end result was a simplified outline of this well-known architecture with its distinctive cupola features.
Other carved elements include; incised and gilded letter carving of LONDON BUSINESS SCHOOL and CONGRATULATION. The CONGRATULATION is carved at the top of the stool, legible for the kneeling graduates during graduation.
